Supporting the community that supports us.
Giving back to our local community is and has always been a big part of our mission. Because every business depends on their community, we want our community to depend our on businesses.
We proudly list the organizations we work with here.
Our Neighbors' Place
We committed $5,000 to Our Neighbors' Place in 2017.
They offer help to people in Pierce and St. Croix counties through the following programs:
Day Center - Assisting over 1,000 people a year, the Day Center connects people to resources they need within the community.
Clothing Closet - Their volunteer-run thrift store is open to the public on Tue and Thu from 10-4pm.
Backpack Program - Open to any student in the River Falls School District, this program provides a backpack filled with kid-friendly, nutritious food to families who are struggling to provide enough food over the weekends during the school year.
Transitional Housing Building - They manage a building with 4 apartments (2 two bedroom and 2 three bedroom units) in River Falls, WI, providing local families with affordable housing and professional case management for up to 2 years, allowing them time to overcome their barriers to permanent housing.
Gregory's Gift of Hope
We committed $720 to Gregory's Gift of Hope for 2017.
Gregory's Gift of Hope (GGOH) is a no-kill animal rescue/re-home program serving St. Croix, Pierce and the surrounding counties. GGOH Animal Rescue was founded in 2004 and was named in memory of a rescued dog who touched the lives of many of our founding members.
They offer refuge, nourishment, and medical attention to injured, abandoned and abused animals. They promote spay/neuter programs to assist with the pet overpopulation problem in the United States and to reduce the number of pets that are euthanized each year. They promote programs that improve the lives of animals, and the people interacting with them, in our community.
GGOH is operated entirely by dedicated unpaid volunteers who donate their time. This means that any funds entering the program can go straight to caring for the animals.
GGOH is funded through adoption fees and through donations from the general public and community businesses.
We committed $2,500 to Timber Bay for 2017.
Timber Bay is a community organization that connects with teens in need of a caring adult mentor and a safe community to belong to. Timber Bay staff and volunteer mentors build long-term friendships that begin in middle school and often extend post-graduation, into young adulthood, and beyond—they are truly ‘mentors for life.’
Their teens are in need of extra support to succeed in life due to a crisis situation, trouble with the law, or social/emotional struggles. Timber Bay offers various opportunities for students to live life well, find purpose, and grow into healthy adults. They know that genuine growth and development for a teen takes a holistic approach: not just relationally, but emotionally, physically, and spiritually. While not all Timber Bay teens share a Christian faith, all are offered a safe place to connect with, caring adults who help them navigate life.
